Erin Knight is a Western Australian based artist and educator who works across mediums of painting and sculpture. Predominantly a painter, her work also explores mixed media to create rich, evocative and surreal spaces. Often working with acrylics, oils, gold leaf and collage, Erin's work often utilises animal and plant life to create scenes rich in metaphor. The use of mixed media liberates the acquisition of imagery and enables the creative process to flow in a more intuitive way. Nets, ropes and chains are common inclusions in her work and serve to be symbolic of what holds us together, restricts us, the networks we create and the systems that give us life.
